Selve

Selve are an alternative rock band led by Loki Liddle (Jabirr Jabirr) and Reece Bowden (Anaiwan), who are known for dazzling audiences at their live shows at Woodford Folk Festival, BLAK DAY OUT, Springtime Festival, Brisbane Festival, Horizon Festival, BIGSOUND, Valley Fiesta and SXSW Sydney. They have also performed on bills with the likes of: Jessica Mauboy, Archie Roach, Matt Corby, Electric Fields, Mildlife, Barkaa, Alice Skye, Shakaya and much more

In 2024 Selve are grounded, electric and ready to match their renowned performance reputation with the announcement of a Creative Australia funded 16-show national Red Desert Dream Tour taking them from the Gold Coast to Melbourne and everywhere in-between, over to Perth then up to Broome and back home to QLD for the home shows. In 2023 Selve released their debut album and accompanying visual album; Red Desert Dream, which had had 5 x songs featured in Spotify’s NMF playlist and 4 x of their music videos featured on Rage. They celebrated their release with launch shows at The Tivoli and Mo's Desert Clubhouse. 

 The 5-piece band is comprised of Reece Bowden (Lead Guitar/Bass), Creation Saffigna (BV’s/Lead Vocals), Liam Kirk (Keyboards), Michael Baldi (Drums) and Loki Liddle (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar).

In 2021 Selve were recipients of the Gold Coast Music Award and were also nominated for the QMusic Billy Thorpe Scholarship. That year they received funding to complete a 14-day residency at The Pink Hotel Coolangatta, which resulted in the recording of 2 x twin EP’s (The Neon Parable of The Pink Hotel pt.1 + pt.2) which were released in 2022. Their first EP ‘Snake of Light’ was released in 2020 and set them on a musical trajectory that has led through change and transformation to the Selve of 2024.
